Pronouns: she/her/hers

Freda Ganiyu is a Master of Public Health student at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She is passionate about Black maternal health, reproductive justice, and improving care experiences for birthing people who have been historically marginalized in the U.S. health system. Her interests span community-centered maternal health, culturally responsive perinatal support, and understanding how structural racism shapes health outcomes across generations.

With long-term plans to attend medical school and become an OB/GYN, Freda is dedicated to integrating public health, clinical practice, and community-based approaches to advance maternal health equity and ensure all birthing people are met with dignity, compassion, and high-quality care.
